THE KEY ELEMENT
Widely distributed in space in cosmic dust and planets as various forms of silicon dioxide (silica), Silicon is the eighth most common element in the universe by mass. A natural element that can last up to 400 years in the world's vast oceans, Silicon is present in nature in different chemical forms. It can be found in its mineral form (Insoluble) in crystalline minerals such as quartz or emerald. Silicon is also present in its active form (soluble in water) called Orthosilicic Acid (OSA), and monomethylsilanetriol.
The human body can only absorb and use silicon for its biological functions soluble in water; however in high concentrations, it polymerizes and becomes unstable and its bioavailability decreases.
A CHALLENGE TO CONQUER
IONTEC was faced with a complex task: to keep Orthosilic acid (OSA) in the monomeric form while formulating a high concentrated stable powder to maintain bioavailability at parity with liquid OSA in order to provide ultimate Silicon supplementation.
To conquer this challenge, Sedifa’s scientists (co-creator of the Collasil® OSA) selected Marine Hydrolyzed collagen in order to prevent its polymerization. Adding this peptide matrix is a crucial step to achieve the stabilization needed in order to create COLLASIL® OSA.
The amino acids found in the collagen peptides allow the silicon to pass through the intestinal wall and release into the bloodstream. This creates a biological bond that stimulates endogenous collagen synthesis.
