BEYOND THE SWISS ALPS
Journey to the vineyard filled canton of Thurgau in the north east of Switzerland, renowned for its snow-capped Alps, idyllic landscapes, technology and innovation. Here, the story of AnaGain™ begins with the seed of a pea- the heart of the Trichology Matrix formulas.
SWISS EXPERTISE
The best ingredients come from the most experienced suppliers. That’s why OXOMIO has partnered with Mibelle Biochemistry, an independent business unit founded in Buchs, Switzerland who has developed an outstanding reputation throughout the world in the fields of biotechnology and biochemistry.
Sprossana, a family business nestled in a small mountain village at the foot of the Schilthorn peak, germinates the organic pea seeds into the valuable sprouts that Mibelle Biochemistry later transforms into AnaGain™.
A TRANSFORMATION BEGINS
An overnight soak activates the germination process for the pea seeds which are then cultivated in rotating bioreactors that must be closely monitored and turned four times a day to ensure that the seedlings are exposed to an even supply of light and optimal oxygen. After several days, the pea sprouts have reached the desired length and are placed in advanced cultivator cylinders that are rotated at a predetermined rhythm, irradiated with light and gently sprayed with water. After an average of 4 days the pea shoots are harvested as quickly as possible to avoid the loss of vital substances.
THE FINAL STEP
Once harvested, the delicate sprouts are packed and cold stored to begin their short journey to Mibelle Biochemistry where their active compounds are transformed into a unique water-soluble powder extract: AnaGain™.
SUSTAINABILITY & TRACEABILITY
AnaGain™ stimulates the hair follicle directly through a unique mechanism by re-balancing the hair growth cycle. Clinical results show a significant improvement of visual hair density and a reduction in hair loss due to its ability to stimulate dermal papilla cells by enhancing the expression of two specifics signaling molecules called FGF7 and Noggin, responsible for the initiation of new hair growth and stimulation of the natural hair growth cycle.
ENVIRONMENTALLY SUSTAINABLE
With over 20 awards for their innovative products, Mibelle Biochemistry is at the forefront of sustainable innovation, sustainable production, and social commitment; they are ISO 14001 certified and are working on moving to using 100% raw materials, 100% renewable energies and only work with closed ecological cycles as well as being committed to the protection of the biodiversity and preservation of rare and protected plants.
BIOASSAY AND CLINICAL STUDIES
The effects of AnaGain™ Nu on hair loss were evaluated by Mibelle Biochemistry on a test panel comprising 21 volunteers suffering from mild to moderate hair loss. The dose of 100mg of AnaGain™ Nu which is present in Trichology Matrix was taken on a daily basis by the volunteers for a period of two months. Hair loss counts were evaluated over three days – at the beginning of the study, following one month and after two months.
AnaGain™ Nu showed a statistically significant hair loss reduction after one month (–34%) and two months (–37%) as well as visibly improved hair density. All volunteers noticed the hair loss reduction and wished to continue the application.
Gene expression analysis was conducted on plucked hair bulbs following a two week treatment with AnaGain™ Nu. The study results showed an up-regulation of Noggin by 56% and FGF-7 by 85%. These results demonstrate that AnaGain™ Nu is able to stimulate the dermal papilla to induce the growth of a new hair.
